USC Trojans Football Team Remains Undefeated

The 2008 University of South California Football Team or also called Trojans is coached by Peter Carroll and held their home games at Los Angeles Coliseum. The team won the Rose Bowl 2007 Season, ranked as 2nd in the Coaches Poll and ranked 3rd in the AP Poll. The team ranked 4th by Sport Illustrated and 5th by the ESPN in January 2008. This ranking is given to due to the departures of some key players in the team. Because of that departure, it reflects on the overall talent level of the team. But the USC ranked as the premiere team in the Pac-10 Conference. Unfortunately, the Trojans had record of 12-1 during their 2008 Season which the team was defeated by Oregon State Beavers on September 25. The Nittany Lions finished the 2008 season with 11-2 which they were defeated by Iowa Hawkeyes. On September 6, 2008, Penn State defeated Oregan State.

One year after, the undefeated USC Trojan reign again defeated the Penn state Nittany Lions by the score of 38-24 in the 95th annual Rose Bowl Game in which the event was held at the Rose Bowl Stadium in Pasadena last January 9, 2009 and it is attended by 92,293 fans.

One of the key players of the USC is Mark Sanchez which led the Trojans with 413 passing yards, a career high and 4 passing touchdowns. The Trojan offense surge in the first half, scoring 4 touchdowns and a field goal that gave USC a 31-7 halftime. Penn State's defense before the game is so weak for it only allowed an average of 12.7 points per game.

This team is destine to win for the players persistent is there given the fact that they want to gain the championship which they lose last year. The burning fire of spirit and power to win is there that make them the most undefeated football team of all time. For the record, USC Trojan had 656 wins, 40 bowl games wins and 5 Associate Press National Championship from the time the team started in the year 1888. There is so much to watch for this powerful team given their track records and previous games, they will definitely improve and continue to gain titles.

Who is the Greatest SEC Football Team?

When the Crimson Tide takes on Texas Longhorns in the BCS national championship game on Thursday night; Alabama will be playing for SEC Football's 19th national title. Or 36th. Or 53rd. Or whatever you like. It depends on they way we determine "national championship" as to what this total may be.

Something that is positive is that if the Crimson Tide beats Texas, SEC Football may win at minimum 2 of the 4 major "national championship" trophies for the 4th season straight. The game's victor is legally promised the AFCA National Championship Trophy and the National Football Foundation's MacArthur Bowl. The victor near positively will win the AP's Paul "Bear" Bryant Trophy and the FWAA's Grantland Rice Award, also.

Following are the SEC Football colleges that were recognized as the final No. 1 in the three major polls. (The AP poll began in '36, the coaches in 50 and the FWAA in '54.)

The University of Tennessee Volunteers, 1951: University of Tennessee opened as the No. one group in the AP pre- season poll, even though they were not absolute SEC Football winners.

Auburn University, '51- Auburn University finished 10-0 by overwhelming their opponents 207-28, with SEC Football's All-American Jimmy Phillips anchoring the nation's No. one defense.

The Louisiana State University Tigers, 58: The LSU Fighting Tigers took the second match of their 10-0 standard season 13-3 up over University of Alabama in Mobile, Alabama.

The Rebels, 1960- On the back of All-American quarterback Jake Gibbs, The University of Mississippi Rebels finished 10-0-1 by beating the Rice University Owls 14-6 in the Sugar Bowl.

Alabama, 1961- The 1st of six SEC Football University of Alabama teams coached by Paul "Bear" Bryant to top the final AP poll outplayed its opponents 287-22 in the standed year to finish No. one in all-around defense and in the same spot in the final AP and coaches polls.

The Crimson Tide, '64: Alabama's 10-0 standard-season campaign included a 36-6 victory over the Tulane Green Wave in Mobile, AL.

The University of Alabama Crimson Tide, '65: University of Alabama finished the SEC Football regular season at 8-1-1, having lost its season-opener by 1 point to The UGA Bulldogs and tied with The University of Tennessee Volunteers on the 3rd Saturday of October.

University of Alabama, '73: The highest-scoring team in Crimson Tide history and the most productive rushing squad in SEC Football past raced through eleven regular-season games to get the coaches poll's final No. 1 placing.

the Crimson Tide, 78: University of Alabama led the first three AP polls of the year, then failed to go back to the top place until the last one -- getting No. 1 by outscoring previously unbeaten the Penn State Nittany Lions 14-7 in the Sugar Bowl with the famous goal-line play.

the Crimson Tide, 79: Alabama Crimson Tide became the 1st SEC Football team to be proclaimed No. one by each of three of the major polls.

University of Georgia, 1980- University of Georgia beat Notre Dame University 17-10 in the Sugar Bowl behind SEC Football freshman genius Herschel Walker.

University of Alabama, '92: Alabama Crimson Tide crowned all three terminal polls, but not until it outscored favored and previously undefeated the Miami Hurricanes 34-13 in the Sugar Bowl.

University of Florida, 1996- It seemed as if the The Florida Gators' championship ambitions perished when they lost the final SEC Football regular-season match 24-21 to Florida State.

Tennessee, 98: The University of Tennessee Volunteers won the 1st BCS title match, which was played as the Fiesta Bowl and introduced the two-team "playoff" still used to pick a national champion nowadays.

The LSU Bayou Bengals, 2003- At the leadership of current the Crimson Tide coach Nick Saban, The Loisiana State University Fighting Tigers beat The Oklahoma Sooners 21-14 in the BCS championship match, which also was the Sugar Bowl.

The Florida Gators, 06- The 12-1 Florida took the three No. 1 rankings by outscoring Ohio State 41-14 in the first BCS national championship match that was not also an existing bowl match.

The Louisiana State University Tigers, '07- LSU followed The Florida Gators' recipe to the top by smashing Ohio State in the BCS national championship game.

Florida, 08: The University of Florida Gators bounced back from a one-point September loss to The Ole Miss Rebels to end 13-1, in the process giving the Crimson Tide its first loss in a huge SEC Football championship game and pounding The Sooners 24-14 in the BCS championship match.

Home Teams Coming Off a Bye - Is There a Fantasy Football Player Advantage?

We all think of the negatives around the bye week for fantasy football purposes, but could there be a huge positive? Is it possible that rested players coming off a bye outperform their average weekly output? This article will explore whether or not there is a real advantage to starting players coming off a bye week who are playing at home.

The thinking here is that the extra rest and the comforts of playing at home will lead to higher player performance. To explore this we looked at a sampling of players we consider "starter-worthy" from the 2008 season and compared their home team post bye week performance to their average numbers for the year. The results were very interesting; lets take a look at the major skill positions.

Quarterbacks coming off a bye and playing at home averaged 316 yards per game. Interestingly, that was only 42 yards more than the average weekly output of the players in the sample from the quarterback position. Rather than focus on the additional fantasy point (assuming 40 passing yards=1 pt) we keep our attention on the 316 yards per game average. What that tells us is that by starting a quarterback coming off a bye at home you are almost guaranteed a big yardage game. The scenario seems to minimize the chance of a below average performance. These quarterbacks also averaged close to two TDs per game, which again is another indicator of above average play.

Running backs coming off a bye and playing at home averaged 77 yards per game, which was 20 yards higher than the seasonal average of the other running backs included in the sample. That translates to an average additional output of 2 fantasy points (assuming 10 yards=1 fantasy point). While these results are not as convincing to us as the quarterback numbers, it does appear that you can get decent production out of running backs playing under the home team coming off bye week scenario. Despite the slight increase in rushing yards, we did not see an advantage in overall TD output from running backs in the sample. At the end of the day, the running back position still comes down to match-ups. If the match-up is right, we would slightly bump up a home team post bye week running back.

Finally, wide receivers coming off a bye and playing at home averaged 104 yards per game. That is 42 yards above the average weekly output of the sample, which came in at 61 yards per game. That extra output translates to a full 4 fantasy points per game (assuming 10 yards=1 pt). In addition, the 104 yards per game average is again a very strong indicator that your top receivers will play above their average at home coming off the bye. Wide receivers also saw a slight increase in average TDs versus their seasonal average, which we view as further confirmation of the benefit gained by playing WRs in the home team coming off a bye scenario.

This analysis indicates that the passing game seems to benefit most from the week off and the home field advantage. The numbers are very convincing from the quarterback and wide receiver positions. Running backs do not seem to benefit from the scenario as much and we would not recommend significantly bumping up their value in the home team post bye scenario. In summary, we think we are on to something here. Feel free to elevate quarterbacks and wide receivers who are playing at home and coming off the bye week.

Youth Football Practice, Your Fourth Practice of the 2008 Season

This is a continuation of the football practice schedule my three youth football teams are following for the 2008 season as well as comments on the progress of all three teams age 7-9, 10-11 and 12-13.

We gave the kids Friday-Sunday off. While most of our competition is practicing 5 days per week, we feel very confident that using the practice methodology we employ along with the proper pace and priorities, we will be able to compete. We believe that youth football players should be really looking forward to practice and are going to make sure no one gets "burned out", while preparing the kids for our first game on 8/23. This is the earliest game we have ever played and the least amount of practice time I've ever had in coaching youth football for over 15 years.

We got started with the base dynamic warm ups, team fit form tackle and angle form tackling, We are easily getting done with all of this in 10 minutes, the pace is where we want it and everyone is breathing a bit heavy at the end of it. Coaches are getting the hang of the perfection we are looking for and the super fast pace, where each small group of 6 kids is getting a rep about every 6 seconds.

Today was a defensive day and our second day in pads.

We worked 20 minutes competitive group tacking drills, loser goes to left group, winner to right group, Close quarters tackling drills and for those progressing well, 3 slot challenge tackling drills. For those struggling, back to the form splatter tackling drills.

The competitive group tackling process helped us determine where kids were going to play on defense. We had a real good idea based on last weeks practice, but this helped us on the kids sitting on the fence. Our coaches all have a detailed description of each position and the traits required to play each position.

We divided up into and did the following for 30 minutes:

Linebackers-Open Field tackling and block shedding drills

D-backs- backpedal, 45 degree break on backpedal, Cover Post, Out

D-Linemen- Bull Rush move, Swim Move, Both moves then form tackle fit

Bearcrawlers- Bearcrawler progression per the book, relay, squeeze, squeeze to form tackle fit

D-Ends- Base alignment, base move, versus lead block sweep, versus coaches as scout on sweep, reverse, off-tackle

Team Defense 40 minutes- 3 steps and stop on ball movement, versus double tight full house, versus double tight wing, versus split with slot

Subbing every play- Every player has both an offensive and defensive position

The with coaches running backfield, sweep, boot, reverse, dive, off-tackle, play action

20 minutes Kicker tryouts-Younger team

10 minutes "game time" Deer Hunter, Dummy Relay Races

Older team 20 minutes - Punt and Kickoff teams

Stay tuned for more developments.

Youth Football Coaching - Duties For the Team Mom

Once you have your youth football coaching staff, including the serious parents who commit as assistant coach, you still will need a lot of help to make the season go as smooth as possible.

The team mom can be the most helpful of all parents. Make sure you have the full list of duties for the team mom. I find it best to let them know up front what they are volunteering for. The usual duties always include the following:

1. Typing and Passing out a roster list with all the players names, numbers, parents names and contact info
2. Emergency phone numbers lists
3. Organizing the homecoming of Rally night which may include assigning things for people to bring.
4. Help passing out uniforms
5. Collection of money and delivery of uniforms to local shirt shops to get the names printed on the back
6. Email updates to the parents
7. Make and distribute an assignment list for game day duties
8. Make and distribute a snack list. I'm funny about this and have pretty much gotten away from it. A lot of teams do a halftime and end of the game snack. I have eliminated both since I believe they are a distraction. An after game beverage like Gatorade is fine.
9. Plan and book the year end banquet. This will include collecting the money from each parent.

These are the main things I will have the Team Mom take care of.

I usually get some one to volunteer very early to be Team Mom. I think the earlier in your youth football year the better. You will find that most of the time the same mom volunteers year after year.

Comprehending the Aspects of Sportsbook Betting

If you are planning to try your hands at a budding past time, it pays (literally) to know what you are doing. Inability to read sportsbook betting lines is one thing that creates a lot of confusion for bettors who have just started. Point spreads and money lines are betting terms used to indicate one team being favored over another. Out of the four major American sports, point spreads are the most frequently used forms of betting on football and basketball, while money lines are used for sports like baseball and hockey, as the scoring in these games is very limited.

When using a point spread bet, you wager on a specific team that will win or lose by a certain amount of points. This pays out even-money minus the vigorish, or bookmaker's take. Another major question that comes up with first time bettors is what exactly is the vigorish, or juice. The juice is usually 10-percent of all bets that is the fee charged by the bookmakers. For example, if one bettor bets $550 to win $500 on Pittsburg and the other bettor chooses the Cardinals, $550 to win $500, then not considering the outcome, the house makes $50 dollars. In other words, the vig is a 10-percent fee paid for the bookmaker's services.

Nearly all betting sites pursue the same sportsbook betting lines pertaining to what comprises an official game. In football and basketball, this happens usually within five minutes of a full game, meaning football games are declared official if 55 minutes are played, NBA games after 43 minutes, and college basketball and the WNBA after 35 minutes of play. The one sport where the official game comes into play more than any other sport is baseball, as the weather can cause confusion in the betting world because of the unknown outcome.

Possibly the utmost advantage of knowing the rules prior to placing a bet is for those dealing with local bookmakers. Many local bookmakers have the habit of changing sportsbook betting odds and lines, depending on which ruling is the most beneficial for them. So, be wary of the bookmakers and make an educated bet.

Remember The Titans Movie - 4/12 [Widescreen Edition]

Remember The Titans Movie - 4/12 - Link - swagbucks.com The sites concept is simple all you really have to do is use its search engine like google and eventually you earn swagbucks, which then you can use to buy stuff from the swagbucks store. The reason I picked this website is that it requires no credit card. In the early 1970s, two schools in Alexandria Virginia integrate forming TC Williams High School. The Caucasian head coach of the Titans is replaced by an African American coach from North Carolina. Tensions arise when players of different races are forced together on the same football team. Many of these tensions are eased during the two-week training camp in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. When players returned to Alexandria the players found the city in turmoil due to the forced desegregation of the high school. As the season progresses the team's success caused the community to accept the changes. After the Titans' perfect season, the team and the city were closer than ever.

Online Shopping For Football Kits Wish List

Replica football kits of every nationality and club team are available at reasonable prices and all levels of the game are catered for with a wide choice of kits to satisfy the most demanding customer whether professional or amateur. Many Internet sales companies are even prepared to promote an interactive approach to you personally designing your own football cloths/kits and any deal suggested by the consumer can be discussed with the sales personnel direct.

Your wish list is only limited to the extent of your imagination. It is clear that the recent explosion in availability of different degrees of styles, designs, colours and fabrics is stunning. Where you are simply looking for an established football kit the process is straightforward. The choice of designs and fabrics will undoubtedly ensure a satisfactory purchase and the keen prices will sweeten the deal. It is well documented how shopping on line offers marvellous savings as well as excellent quality product. The only drawback might be the confusion caused by having too large a choice to choose from, however this is certainly not a disadvantage when we consider the voiced grievances of consumers complaining about lack of choice.

If you have the task of choosing a football team kit from scratch then these on line offers will provide all the necessary choice to satisfy managers, coaches, players and supporters in formulating their ideal football kits. You will find inspiration in many quarters; other team colours, your club colours, favourite international colours and even kit colours worn by teams of other sporting disciplines and games.

We know from the media that football kits are iconic and are as much a recognisable part of every team as their stadium or team coach. This said we can therefore appreciate the importance that football teams attach to their kit. It has to look attractive and ooze quality to the degree that it becomes a marketing tool for promoting the team and its sponsor. No Sponsor will associate their branding with an unworthy product so football kit has to look perfection. The cosmetic aspect is only superseded by the quality aspect when it comes to getting player approval. Therefore football team kit has to please on both levels and that is not withstanding the opinion of the supporters who will be wearing the jerseys at all team matches.

Technically and cosmetically football team kits have to pass stringent quality controls as far as players and supporters are concerned. Nevertheless consumers are always looking for bargains and for those manufacturers who can combine quality with value, they will capture the market. This probably applies most to the well publicized branded football kits but they are having to face greater competition in the market place from up and coming new brands. This suits the consumer very well.

Here at http://www.royalsportskit.com have developed our own ranges of football kits offering superb quality and value for money - as customers have testified so check all of sportswear kits.

As the calendar page turns to August, the thoughts of sports fans across the country turn to College Football.

And, why not. With the scandals rocking pretty much every other sport - College Football stands out for its good, clean competition. It's epitomizes what sports should be all about.

Of course, the various National Polls are coming out with their opinions of who is the Number 1 college football team in the land. And that controversial issue will be debated around thousands of water coolers for the next five months at least.

Before we get into the frenzy of the college football season (I can't wait), this might be a good time to take a step back and dispassionately explore the topic of which was the best college football team in history.

Certainly, which was the best team ever is a debatable issue. But, as an SEC fan, I have a strong opinion. And, I think the answer is easy:

The 1961 Alabama Crimson Tide was the best college football team ever.

The team was led by the legendary coach Paul "Bear" Bryant. Of course the "Bear" ultimately became, perhaps, the best college football coach ever. Among many accomplishments, his teams won fifteen Southeastern Conference (SEC) championships and six National Championships.

But, his 1961 team was the first. Five more National Championship teams would follow in its footsteps. But, the 1961 team blazed the trail for the rest.

The 1961 Alabama Crimson Tide went an undefeated (11-0) and was crowned the undisputed National Champion. With the numerous national polls, at the time, it was very unusual to finish the season as the "undisputed" National Champ. The '61 Crimson Tide did it.

But, the really amazing thing about that team was its defense. It outscored its opponents 297 - 25! No one scored more than 7 points against the '61 Crimson Tide defense and, in fact, six opponents failed to score at all. They beat Tennessee 34-3 and ended the season by beating Arkansas 10-3 in the Sugar Bowl.

The team was led by offensive lineman Billy Neighbors and linebacker Lee Roy Jordan (both in the College Football Hall of Fame); as well as QB Pat Trammell (Heisman Trophy finalist).

Considering the legend of Bear Bryant; the undefeated record; the undisputed national championship; the amazing defense; the fact they were "the first" in a long line of Alabama champions - it's easy to see why the 1961 Alabama Crimson Tide was the best team in college football history.

See you at the water cooler.

Shopping For Prostar Football Kits - Highlighting Team Effort

One of the reasons for creating Prostar football kits is to provide uniforms, accessories and gadgets to the entire team. With this being so, team effort is stressed. This is important not only for the competition proper but in the process of shopping for outfits as well. You have to take note that if your football team buys different colours of clothing, your team may not be recognised. If you are eyeing for the best amongst all Prostar football kits, you must all sit down together as a team and make your own plan.

Like team effort you exert during a game, you should also apply the same principles when searching for jerseys and shorts to fit you. This is precisely the reason why Prostar football kits came to existence. You have to highlight some steps in order to make the endeavour all worth it. Of course, add to that the fact that your teammates may have complaints with you acting as the sole decision maker.

What should you do when shopping for Prostar football kits for your football team?

When shopping, there are some simple steps to follow. These are actually basic guides to make the purchase more fulfilling for each of the members of your football team. Prostar football kits want you to build team effort for all endeavours thus you must not ignore buying tips.

o Organise and call for a meeting. Your coach or team managers may be tasked with this particular procedure. Organising a meeting means calling every single member of the team. You should not come up with a decision unless it is favourable for majority of the team members.

o Start shopping online. There is a wide array of Prostar football kits offered online. This option is recommendable especially if you are having a meeting with the rest of the team members. Whilst the meeting is going on, you may present your ideas and allow your team to look into the various options available. In this way, you may be able to consider what others are saying. Shopping through such venues is more convenient as you may discuss matters during the meeting at the same time look at pictures of the different design options.

o Allow everyone to participate. In the course of your meeting, ask for opinions from other members. It would be best for you to ask if there are other ideas coming from the rest of the group. This is a better procedure than you acting as a boss over all the important facets of the purchase.

o Consider customisation services from the company. This is one of the major aspects involved in Prostar football kits. The company believes that you want to have your own unique sets of jerseys and shorts. It is in this reason that Prostar provides a specialised service known as customisation. In this manner, you are allowed to specify the colours and designs you want for your football team's uniforms.

Enjoining the whole team in the shopping process for Prostar football kits is one way of encouraging camaraderie and team work. Whilst leadership may come from you, this is not an excuse for you to decide on the whole thing. You have to give regard to the opinions of others. By doing so, you are assured that you will have the best Prostar football kits for your team.

Coaching Football Special Teams

I called a friend of mine who is the Head Coach at a Big East Football team and we talked about how his football team coaches special teams., these are some of the comments made during that interview.

One of the first things they try to do is to let the kids know there are areas where we can achieve certain goals on special teams. Clearly the skilled players want to be on the special teams. They want to touch the football. But the question is how do you draw the interest of the other players on the special team who do not get to touch the football? How do you keep the left tackle on the extra point team interested? We came up with an award for the special team player of the year based on a point system. We went out and got the largest trophy we could find. It is about three-feet high. We wanted to get the biggest and gaudiest trophy we could find. We wanted our players to see the trophy every day. The trophy cost us about $100. The bang for our bucks came from the fact that we saw our kids change their attitude on how they could win the special teams player of the year. If you are going to emphasize something you must give the players a carrot, and we did that with the trophy.

In our team room we have three distinctive goals and the goals are displayed on banners. The banners are 12-feet wide by eight-feet tall. They are prominent in our team room. When you walk into our team room it is unmistakable that we have special team goals, offensive team goals, and defensive team goals.

Let me go over our special team goals

Win

Better than average field position after kickoff than opponent

Better net punt average than opponent

Score or set up a score

Give the offense the ball at least one time on the plus -50-yard line

Never give the opponent the ball on our side of the 50-yard line

Perfect execution on holds, snaps, and ball security

Have at least one game breaker - score, block a punt, block a kick, recover an onside kick, cause a turnover, recover a turnover, down a punt inside the 10-yard line, 60 yards of field position change

No penalties

Win the hidden-yardage game - kickoff - kickoff return - punt - punt return

First is to win. That is our first goal. The reason we try to stay away from numbers on the net punt average is the fact there are so many obstacles that may not allow us to achieve these goals.

If we get someone who kicks the ball in the end zone or there is a penalty after the kick, it can eschew the numbers relative to better kickoffs for the opponents. What we want is the average. The same thing is true with having a better punt return average than our opponents.

If you break down the film, you will find the special teams set up a lot of your scores. And a lot of the times the coaches do not even talk about that point. You do not build the creditability into your special teams. You tend to lose it in its perspective.

We want to give the ball to our offense at least one time on the plus 50-yard line.

There are several ways to make this happen. It could be by a punt, pressure, or on any of our kickoffs. We want our kids to understand what we want in this respect.

When we had all of the numbers as goals, such as getting the ball on the 25-yard line, or return the ball 25 yards, they do not remember those things.

On the other hand, we do not want to give our opponent the ball on our side of the ball.

We want to have perfect execution on all special team plays.

We want to have at least one game breaker.

The one point here that we think is big is to down a punt inside he 10-yard line. To us, that is a game breaker. If you do the job on defense you will probably set up a score or get into a potential scoring situation.

All of these are great goals. But the one goal that we work on more than any other is the last goal: win the hidden yardage game.

Let me categorize hidden yardage. Here we are talking about the kickoff, kickoff returns, punts, and punt returns.

We use the 25-yard line on kickoff returns and 35-yards net on punts and calculate the yards. Let me give you an example. If we have a team that kicks the ball out of the end zone on us, it means we would start the ball in play from the 20-yard line. This means we are at a minus 5 yards in hidden yards against our opponents. Conversely, if we had a kickoff that we returned to the 50-yard line, we would have a plus 25 yards on the hidden yardage.

We do the same thing on punts. We use 35 as the magic number.

If we had a punt that netted 50 yards, we would be plus 15 yards in the hidden yardage.

If you keep track of these hidden yards, you will find they make a difference in winning and losing.

Those numbers are going to come back to you better than some of the other numbers you may throw at your players when you put up your goals. You want to make sure when the players leave the meeting that they know what hidden yardage is. If you can get your players to understand hidden yardage, you are going to win a lot of battles.

We want to put some competitive goals into the special teams, so we came up with a point production chart.

On the chart we have team points and individual points. We feel it is important if you are on a particular team to have a chance to get points on the special teams.

Our long snapper came within four points of winning the award this year. Our left guard was in the top three for the special team award. So we have team points that we give out for punt and extra point as well as individual points. If you do not do this the skilled players will run away with the award.

TEAM POINTS - (10)

Score

Block a punt

Block a kick

Recover an onside kick

Successful fake

TEAM POINTS (3)

Stop a fake

Down a punt inside 10-yard line

TEAM POINTS (2)

Kickoff return of plus 30 yards

Punt return of plus 10 yards

INDIVIDUAL POINTS (10)

Cause a turnover

Recover a turnover

60-yard field position change

INDIVIDUAL POINTS (5)

Game winning field goal

Involved in 15 or more plays

INDIVIDUAL POINTS (3)

De-cleater

Tackle

Key block on return

Exceptional effort

4.0 hang time on kickoff or touchback

4.5 hand time on punt or 40-yards net with fair catch

INDIVIDUAL POINTS (2)

Assisted tackle

INDIVIDUAL POINT (1)

Doing your job on every play on a special team Victory award.

The coach who is responsible for that particular team grades the film. There is some flexibility in the system and we do have minus points. If you get a penalty you get minus 5 points. On any missed assignment you receive minus 5 points. The kids are going to see the chart on Sunday. That is the first thing we talk about in our team meeting.

We have the chart in our team room. You can see how we chart the players each week. On the left-hand side of the chart we have all of the players listed. We grade the film and give the players the points they earn in each area. On the left side of the chart are the team points and on the right side of the chart are the individual points. Also on the right outside of the chart we have the players' total points for the last game.

I think it is important to have this information displayed in the locker room so the kids can see how they are being graded on the special teams. We are trying to build some ownership in this team. This chart will help you build your case for special teams.

We have another chart where we keep a running total of all the games. Each week the kids can see where they rate on the chart. They can come into our meeting knowing they earned a certain number of points from the last game or knowing they lost a certain number of points. We think the chart is good because the kids can see where they stand game by game.

This system really works for us. It keeps our kids motivated each week about the ranking for winning the special teams trophy!

The coaching job is believed to go to Bill Snyder if he wants it. Kansas is said to desire a coach with Bowl experience and wants to hire as soon as possible. However, money might be an issue. There is still the matter of paying off Prince $1.3 to buy him out of the raise and extension given to him just last summer.

On the positive side, the November 15 loss against Nebraska Cornhuskers showed the abilities of the specials teams and the defense to score touchdowns off returns. They hope to sustain it by next season. On the players, Josh Freeman suffered a mild concussion during the Nebraska game. No further information however, was divulged by coach Prince. Questions on the future of some players, particularly Brandon Banks are being asked. Would he stay with the team now that Prince, who signed him, is leaving. Banks said that his stay will depend on the new coach that will be hired by the Kansas State.

Tips For Football Bets

Everybody knows that football betting is the best form of sports betting. This is because of the fact that football is a game of skill and tactics. If you do the math and anticipate the strategies of the coaches, you will surely make some big dollars over a period of time.

Anybody can become an expert at football bets with a little bit of dedicated and dexterous research. The main thing is that you remain concentrated in your task and never loose focus during matches.

The Biggest Mistake

The biggest mistake that people make is to begin betting before the season actually starts. This happens quite often as betters do this very commonly. They fail to realize that the pre-season time is for watching the games and reading between the lines.

Never place football bets unless it's mid season. This is because the team managers and coaches use this period to determine their strategy by evaluating the players of their teams as well as those of others.

Take Notes

As a football better, you should also use this period to research and take notes. You need to observe and note down the performance of each player. Try to observe their performances without any support from the starters. This period is very significant for predicting the performance of a particular team for the whole season.

Never Bet On Your Home Team

Football bets are not only a way to make quick money, they also help you enjoy the games. They allow the football fans to put their fanaticism aside and choose their teams more rationally and scientifically. In fact, there are many betters who make it a point not to bet on their favorite or local teams. This is because they are afraid that they might yield to their emotions and place loosing bets. This is a very good practice and you should do it if you're also a die hard supporter of some or the other teams.

Collage Teams Are Just As Important As NFL

Many betters make the mistake of not paying any heed to collage games. In fact, they are very important and they help you learn a lot. College is the cradle of all future sports stars. You need to have an open mind about this if you are serious about placing football bets.

Find out who's Injured!

Even a small injury can adversely affect the player's performance in a particular game, or even a season. You will need to constantly follow up on the latest injury reports. Over a period of time, this will also help you in short listing those players who tend to get injured more frequently than others.

Watch out for the injury reports of the top players. If they remain out or do not play up to their full potential in a particular game, the outcome could badly affect your bet. This is a game that depends on many variables. So, remember to do your homework before placing any football bet.

FootballBets.org is one of the best places online where you can place football bets. Apart from the sports books, they also list invaluable statistics for all major seasons and games.

Thierry Henry Legend All Arsenal Goals Part 7

This video series contains all of Thierry Henry's 226 goals for Arsenal, who he played for between 1999-2007. Henry is recognised as a world class striker and is regarded as one of the finest players in Arsenal's history. Although Henry played up front as a striker during his youth, he spent his time at Monaco and Juventus playing on the wing. When Henry joined Arsenal in 1999, Wenger immediately changed this, switching Henry to his childhood position, often pairing him with Dutch veteran Dennis Bergkamp. During the 200405 season, Wenger switched Arsenal's formation to 4-5-1. This change forced Henry to adapt again to fit into the Arsenal team, and he played many games as a lone striker. Still, Henry remained Arsenal's main offensive threat, on many occasions conjuring spectacular goals. Wenger once said of his fellow Frenchman: "Thierry Henry could take ball in the middle of park and score a goal that no one else in the world could score". One of the reasons cited for Henry's impressive play up front is his ability to calmly score from one-on-ones. This, combined with his exceptional pace, means that he can get in behind defenders regularly enough to score. When up front, Henry is occasionally known to move out wide to the left wing position, something which enables him to contribute heavily in assists: between 200203 and 200405, the striker managed almost 50 assists in total and this was attributed to his unselfish play and creativity. Henry would also drift offside to ...
